The Jellyfish Festival 2021

The Jellyfish festival took place September 4th and 5th in Ocean City, Maryland. My husband, Chris and I arrived in Ocean City a few days early and I was thankful to be living the beach life for a few days. Chris performed in the festival as the drummer for the Derek Woods Band

Before the festival, Chris and I did the local beach things, ate Fischer’s Popcorn and Thrashers fries, bought art from a local artist (Hi Alberto), was taught how to boogie board (thanks Shia!), rode Surrey bikes, and we drove to Rehoboth beach (where we got engaged 8 years ago)! And yes, I bought a hermit crab too!

I digress, back to the festival…

The Jellyfish festival provides not only entertainment, but had a variety of vendors, and is fun! Craft Beer, Live Music (original acts), Surfing, Cornhole, Frisbee, Fat Tire Bikes, Marine Corp Fitness Zone, and Vendors. Please take note some of these activities like cornhole is a tournament event and one had to register in order to participate.

This is a reoccurring family friendly event. The festival was on the beach between N. Division & Talbot St. The event had FREE admission and was multiple blocks long. Shore Craft Beer Festival was an awesome addition to this year’s Jellyfish Festival that was on the beach, Saturday 12-4PM. The Craft Beer festival is a paid and ticketed event. September 4th line up was Anthony Gomes, Derek Woods Band, Ray Wroten, Ted Bowne, Never Ending Fall, and Chasing Straights. September 5th line up was Troll Tribe, Cross Town Walkers, Rockoholics, Ethereal Vibrations, DJ Magellan.

Brad Hoffman is the founder and director of the Jellyfish Festival. In 2019, the festival was held in June. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the festival was canceled, but this year it was pushed back to Labor Day weekend.

I had a great time! I thought the bands were excellent. The vendors had quality products. I would highly recommend for next year!
