Dear Readers:
As promised, I wanted to introduce you to Silver Eye / Home. I recently had the opportunity to explore this wonderful place. The Silver Eye offers great opportunities and experiences for photographers. I highly recommend visiting or try to get an exhibit there. Maybe even an internship.
Here is their mission statement found on there website:
Silver Eye promotes the power of contemporary photography as a fine art medium by creating original exhibitions, unique educational programing, and a space for artists to learn, create, and connect through our digital lab. Our programs are dedicated to supporting the work of emerging, mid-career, and under-recognized artists and sharing that work with our diverse audience in engaging and meaningful ways.
Also, I wanted to introduce you to a few artists that I recently learned about. Check them out! I recently attended a virtual event called Black Study on Intimacy (part two). During the event, I was nervous because I was not grasping the message each presenter was trying to convey. With poetry it is more than just words, it’s about the pauses in between each word, and the breaths. There is a rhythm that each artist has that syncs the words of power to make poetry one’s own. Poetry is a lingering art, and the ideas and content behind one’s poetry can linger with individuals, and the audience does not need to get the message. “It’s ok to engage without understanding.” – Anais
