Sherri Hess is Owner of AR Workshop Pleasant Hills. I have the pleasure of interning here for the summer and I love this place! I define AR Workshop (AR) as a crafter’s paradise. There is so much you can do here, either by registering for in-person workshop classes or purchasing DIY TO-GO KITS that you can make at home. AR will host events and parties for all ages. Side note: you can bring your own food and BYOB. The AR staff can even create a fabulous handmade piece for individuals who just want to pick up an item already done versus making it themselves. When you are in the store, be sure to check out the awesome gift items available for purchase from local vendors. AR also conducts summer art sessions for children ages 7-14 years old through mid-August!
When Sherri was giving me the introductory tour of the workshop, she pointed out how AR has six designer colors of non-toxic, odorless wood stain. AR also has over 50 designer paint colors that are also water-based and non-toxic.
I personally think Sherri sets a great tone for her employees and customers. Like any business owner, Sherri faces difficulties and challenges, but she knows how to keep calm and finds a solution to any situation that arises. I love hearing Sherri’s insight on creatively developing the various projects AR offers.
