Reflecting on 2023 and what’s in store for 24!
Dear Readers:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This past year, I did not write as much as I would have liked, but I promise you I was hard at work behind the scenes. This past December I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. I was focusing on theatre, music, and studio arts.
Education is important to me. During my last year of school, Spring Semester 2023, I had the opportunity to be apart of Pitt to the Point. This is a live 1-hour news/magazine program which covers the City of Pittsburgh, The University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh’s regional campuses, as well as National and International news and events. I received an Emmy nomination! Due to the Emmy nomination, I was featured in The Insider (SHRS-Pitt). I thought they did a great job telling my experience of the Emmys!
Here is the article:
Natalie Belin, Emmy nominee and administrative assistant for the Undergraduate Program in Rehabilitation Science, will be graduating this fall with quite a resume! Belin received an Emmy nomination for her work on a feature for “Pitt to the Point” about the Irish Design Center. She helped produce the piece during her TV News Practicum class last spring. “This feature was important because the owners are committed to perpetuating Irish culture here in Pittsburgh,” she explains. “The store sells Irish goods including food, coffee and tea, sweaters, hats, home décor, jewelry and more. Many of these items are authentically made in Ireland.” She and classmate Alexandra Ross were ecstatic to learn that the feature was nominated in the Arts and Entertainment category of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-Atlantic student awards.
Ross and Belin attended the awards ceremony at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square in mid-October. Belin wore a black sparkly gown designed by Jimme Huang. Although the duo did not come home with an Emmy, Belin says, “To me, this means everything. This is a dream that I have had since I was a little girl. I have never given up on my goals and dreams of possibly being on TV one day…To actually be nominated for the Mid–Atlantic Emmys is an honor, and I am blown away.”
Belin will receive her bachelor’s degree in Humanities this December.
While finishing up my education, I became the Merchandise Manager for the Derek Woods band. Additionally, I made a cameo in their Don’t Look Away video!
Here is a PITTNEWS article discussing more about the Don’t Look Away video: PITTNEWS
With Mother/ Daughter Collaboration, we are about to launch a new product line. I can’t wait to show you what we have been up too!
This video features Chevy Chase tasting the Derek Woods Band coffee out of a mug Mother/Daughter Collaboration made! Watch Video here!
Since I last wrote, I am now a brand ambassador for Just Strong clothing and Ambassador Sunglasses.
For this year, I plan to pick up where I left off with The Many Colors of Natalie, and incorporate the things that I have learned along my educational journey. Writing reviews about concerts, shows, books, food and travel. I am going to discuss the growing art scene in Pittsburgh! I have a lot to talk about and I can’t wait to reveal this years interviews!
Next month, I will be writing about Clarksdale Mississippi. Clarksdale is the home of the blues.
Wishing you all a prosperous New Year!
Sincerely,
Natalie
